Home Garden - before Garden - during Kitchen - before Kitchen - after Bathroom - before

Weroona is an Aboriginal word, meaning 'place of rejuvenation'.

I inherited this house name from my grandmother, Emily Bilbe, who lived in a house of this name in Rozelle for the last 60 years of her life. The house was built by my grandfather's (Thomas Bilbe) parents when they first emigrated in Australia from England in the late 1800s.

We first used the name on our property in the Megalong Valley, and had 10 wonderful years there. In May 2011 we moved up to our current home in Blackheath - a 1950's cottage in original condition that we plan to bring up to date with a sympathetic renovation. It now has the Weroona name plaque attached.

This website is devoted to documenting the transformation of the new weroona. It is going to be a long project but one we're very excited about.
